Teachers at the School
Principal
Freda Wynne
Freda Wynne has been dancing since the age of 3 and received all her early training at the Romford School of Dancing which specialised in Imperial Ballet. At age 13 she was awarded a place at the Sadler's Wells Ballet School, London but deferred her place preferring to remain and study with her teacher Miss Edna Bull.
She qualified as a teacher at the age of 16 and set up her school offering Imperial ballet, but found this rather restrictive, and so went on to work with Miss Eileen Woodhouse and qualified to teach with the NATD in Ballet, Tap and Modern.
She was also a Tiller Girl and performed in various pantomimes across the London theatre circuit. She also sings and has been associated with many local amateur dramatic societies where she has played many leading roles- the most notable being the leading role in 'The Merry Widow'.
She has always been proud of her family links and for many, many years her mother, always her biggest supporter, made costumes for her shows. Her daughter Adele is vice principal at the school and Freda is very proud that her granddaughter Sacha and her great granddaughter Ruby are performing members of the school.
Freda is a Fellow of the NATD and has fulfilled a lifelong ambition to be an Examiner, she travels around the country to various NATD schools.
Vice Principal
Adele Leger
Adele has been dancing since the age of 2 1/2 and received her training with her mother Freda Wynne. She started to teach at the age of 14 in the senior class. At age 16 she was accepted into The Bluebell Girls in Paris but her love of teaching meant she declined her place. She loves all forms of dance, especially tap, and her idols are Gene Kelly, The Nicholas Brothers, Fred Astaire and Gregory Hines.
Adele takes the senior girls' classes for Musical Theatre and has a special interest in choreography, especially if it is a little unusual!!
Adele is very proud that her daughter Sacha is in her class and her granddaughter Ruby dances with the babies.
She is a Member of the NATD.
Senior Teacher
Sharon Webster
Sharon has been dancing since the age of 2 1/2 and received her early training with The Bush Davies School, Romford. She was advised to start dancing to help with her flat feet!!
She returned to dancing with Freda joining the Adult tap class, for fun and exercise, and quickly realised her love of dancing had never left her. She joined the senior class with Adele and had many notable solo successes, especially with her lyrical dancing. Sharon started helping with the baby classes and quickly realised that she loved teaching.
She studied with Freda and gained her teaching qualifications with the NATD and is now a Member. She takes sole responsibility for the Disco and Contemporary classes and also teaches tap, modern and ballet to the babies, juniors and intermediates.
